Rotating D’Angelo House Hits the Market

Over the years, the Beatles have had the pleasure to party in many houses in the city, but this is by far the house that has the momentum of the Beatles lingering even until this day. The 857 square-foot rotating D’Angelo House is very small compared to most luxury houses, but very large in its lore of the legendary band, who, back in 1965 spent time in the home while on tour in Los Angeles.

According to the listing, the 1963 Snow Creek property outside the skirts of Palm Springs was built by Floyd D’Angelo, a LA businessman who worked at the Aluminum Skylight and Specialty Corporation, alongside an aerospace engineer pal. Together, they were determined to showcase one of his products by building a house.

Prior to new owners in 2002, the rotating house had been vacant for decades. The most recent owner from an ad agency in New York City replaced the motor with a new one for the rotating mechanism, now it takes approximately 15 seconds for a 130 degree turn to be completed. Also, the home is resting on a cement block, rubber tire casters and sixteen struts to help support the cleverly designed house. Originally the motor was once solar-driven.

The D’Angelo House features one bedroom, three-quarter bathrooms, a central fireplace and an open floor plan, all on an acre of land, right beside a two-acre undevelopable parcel. If you’re in the mood to live in the very same place that one of the most legendary English bands of all time once called home, the asking price is $279,000 with $66 in monthly HOA dues.
