In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, on November 18 local Miami chefs will be joining Andrew Carmellini and his team at The Dutch at W South Beach to present a five-course dinner and silent auction in an effort to provide relief for the victims of Sandy.

In collaboration with Gourmet Guinea Pigs, Miami organizers of premier underground dining events, Andrew Carmellini and his team at The Dutch have invited local Miami chefs and businesses to join them for the relief dinner and silent auction, which is priced at $250 per person all-inclusive.

Carmellini said, “We got rocked up in New York, some much worse than others. Many people like myself have roots in both the tri-state and South Florida, so I knew I could count on the culinary talent of Miami for help. Cobaya has been instrumental in this rally.”

Notable chefs set to attend include Antonio Bachour, Michelle Berstein, Aaron Brooks, Jeremiah Bullfrog, Richard Gras, Brad Kilgore, Andrew Zimmern’s AZ Canteen and The Dutch’s chef de cuisine Conor Hanlon, pastry chef Josh Gripper and head bartender Rob Ferrara. Signature dishes and chef favorites will be served each course, paired with wine and cocktails.

The relief dinner begins at 7 p.m. with cocktails by BarLab and The Dutch’s Rob Ferrara. Canapes will be served in Grove at W South Beach followed by dinner on The Terrace at The Dutch.

The silent auction will include an array of items such as a two-night stay at the W South Beach in a luxury VIP suite, autographed cookbooks, dinner certificates and the chance to rally along participating chefs for hurricane relief.

According to The Dutch, all proceeds will go directly to NYC Food Flood, which was started by Carmellini and fellow New York chefs Marco Canora, Seamus Mullen and George Mendes.

Reservations are limited for the event. Visit the website or call 305-938-3111 for tickets and follow along on Twitter at @nycfoodflood.
