South Park Hotel to Undergo New Renovations by Architect Genius Sam Marshall

News | November 6, 2012

Many architects have attempted to transform the 1909 hotel property-turned-drug-den into a much more modern and elegant style for South Park, but developers chose the very best architect for the job, Sam Marshall.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Hope Street project will cost $31 million and is under development by a group of first-time hoteliers. The new hotel will include nine stories and 44 rooms, surrounded by an open-air courtyard which is said to an original century-old structure that is unsound. The new addition will have a pool, along with three suites on stilts above the rooftop pool. The old hotel will also have a glassed-in artist-in-residence structure.

As of this week, developers are submitting their plans to the Planning Commission in hopes of the exclusive project starting early next year.
