Bright Pink’s VIPink Fundraiser at Saks Fifth Avenue
Just one of eight of the eight cities on the Bright Pink tour, founder and CEO Lindsay Avner made a stop at Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago on North Michigan Avenue. Wearing one of her many pink dresses, she was once again drumming up support the Chicago-based charity. Bright Pink was created to educate young women about breast and ovarian cancer, and to hopefully help provide early detection. Having known women who have been affected by this disease, I can’t stress enough how important these types of organizations are.
There were over 500 people there to support Bright Pink, a record-setting number. The fundraiser, which was of course filled with all kinds of pink clothing, was to help finance the program and help it spread across the country. The VIPink event featured a runway show and included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for the attendees. Sponsored by the Sun-Times, they along with the Chicago Community Trust are matching donations (up to $5,000) to Bright Pink, from now until January 1st. If you would like to donate, click here.
