
Haute 100 NY Update: Jean-Georges Vongerichten Sues Developer Over Tribeca Space
The empire-building chef goes to court over the old Matsugen space.
Ace chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten filed a lawsuit against developer Yitzchak Tessler, claiming that Tessler had offered to pay him $400,000 to give up the lease on the address formerly occupied by Vongerichten’s Asian restaurant Matsugen. The cook behind a global fine dining empire had rented the space at 66 Leonard Street in Tribeca since 2000.
