Stonehaus will celebrate its opening on October 14 in Westlake Village. Serving as a gourmet coffeehouse by day and transforming into a wine bar and tasting room by night, Stonehaus is a European-inspired enoteca set in the town’s 44-year-old Westlake Village Inn.
Located just 10 miles from Malibu, Westlake Village Inn is a 141-room Mediterranean-influenced boutique hotel that will be home to Stonehaus, a rustic eatery nestled among olive trees and vines from the hotel’s private vineyard.
Ideal for relaxing over fresh and seasonal food and beverage, Stonehaus will function as a gourmet coffeehouse by day and transform into a wine bar and tasting room by night. During the day, the new eatery will offer items such as muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and croissants, but as the day progresses, the atmosphere will relax and become more a European winery with patio seating, an exterior stone fireplace, a wood burning pizza oven and a water fountain. The Westlake Village Inn private label vintage wine will be available, along with a vast selection of California and international varietals, fine cheeses and charcuterie. Sommelier-led tastings, pairings and exclusive private dinners will also be offered.
Stonehaus resembles a Tuscan country house with a stone façade, Italian tile pitched roofs and a stone chimney. Designed by Aaron’s Architects of Westlake Village, the 3,100-square-foot space features a tasting room with a Bordeaux table and outdoor seating that offers vineyard and mountain views.
In addition to regular menu items and wine tastings and pairings, there is a Stonehaus package tied in to the opening. Called the “Pizza y Vino”, the package includes an overnight stay, private pizza making class for two at Stonehaus and a post-pizza making wine tasting.
Beginning October 14, Stonehaus will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
