Derek Axelrod is the mastermind behind Teqa, Murray Hill’s newest restaurant. Coming from a line of successful entrepreneurs, Axelrod proudly began his career in the restaurant and nightlife industry when working for Peter Morton, Founder of The Hard Rock brand. In addition, Axelrod helped craft highly successful campaigns for his family’s company, French Connection. As head of the product placement division, he shaped his unique approach to public relations, which he has applied to acquiring, expanding and building a several restaurants.

With chic décor and a modern menu boasting traditional spirit, Teqa is not just any neighborhood bar and restaurant. Acclaimed Chef Lisa Schoen’s creative and exquisitely crafted menu puts a spin on Mexican fare.
