A Vintage Ferrari 250 GTO is now the world's most expensive car, selling for $35 million to an American car collector.
Haute auto news: Bloomberg News has recently reported the most expensive car purchase in recorded history rang in at $35 million for a vintage Ferrari 250 GTO.
The apple-green race car built for Stirling Moss was made between 1962 and 1964, and was bought by United States car collector Craig McCaw in a private transaction from Dutch businessman Eric Heerema.
The previous record was held by LA Mullin Automotive Museum owner Peter Mullin for reportedly paying between $30 million and $34 million for a 1936 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic.
