On March 7, 2010, Elton John held the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood, California, raising $3.7 million.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation was established in 1992. Founded by Elton John, the foundation works toward the support of innovative HIV prevention programs, eliminate the stereotypes and discrimination’s that are associated with HIV/AIDS, and assist with direct care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

With all the foundations support, the organization has raised over $175 million since the start of the project, now within 55 countries around the world.

Wearing a stunning Oscar de la Renta black gown, Lea Michele was one of the many stars to attend the annual event. Other celebrities included Heidi Klum, Jason Mraz, Selena Gomez, Victoria Beckham, Hayden Panettiere, and Salma Hayek.

The stars gathered together in a custom-built tent where they began the evening with a cocktail reception, dinner, and viewing of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. The showing was followed by a live auction and an electrifying performance by Grace Jones.
