Set to open sometime in 2017, a billion-dollar hotel from Korean Air will be located in downtown Los Angeles at Wilshire Boulevard and Figueroa Street.
The luxury hotel is to be built on the site of the former Wilshire Grand Hotel and will feature a sky lobby located on the top of the building on the 70th floor. Hoping to be the second-tallest building in Southern California, the building will include a 900-room four-star hotel, an infinity swimming pool, bar, shops, restaurants, retail and office space.
There has been no confirmation on which hotel brand will manage the property and a specific design plan is still in the works. There will, however, be digital billboards incorporated to the exterior design.
To make space for the new hotel, the contents of the former Wilshire Grand Hotel are being sold and the building is expected to be demolished over the summer.
