Early in 2012, 27-year-old French designer Maxime Simoens confirmed that he was in negotiations to take John Galliano’s vacant position at Dior, however it was recently announced that Raf Simmons took the spot. Now, it appears one of the most powerful men in the design world, Bernard Arnault, has taken an interest in Simoens an is reportedly investing in the young talent.
A source spoke on the matter and said of the situation, “They do believe in him, and want to finance him.”
