Merrilyn Bardes Uses Legendary Backyard to Hosts Mounts Botanical Garden Party
Charity is always a beautiful thing, especially when you have such a breath-taking landmark home and legendary garden to host one of the most talked about charity events in West Palm Beach. Well, this year’s 14th annual Spring Benefit for the Mounts Botanical Garden was hosted right in Merrilyn Bardes’ backyard, with more than 200 guests that attended from Beth Dowdle, Janice Stern, Susan Stautberg, Lee and Jeff Alderton, Wylene Commander, Paul Suschak, Beth Summers, Katherine Ford Bister, Lacy Davisson Doyle, Thomas and Catalina Mailer, Annette Geddes, Joe Carroll, Linda and Ken Brower, Jerry Guy, Ann Carmichael, and so many more. Plus, the honorary chairwoman was Bardes.
The evening included music, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and an auction to make the day compete, with Jean Matthews and Polly Reed as chairwomen for the wonderful evening.
Mounts Botanical Garden is in fact the largest and oldest public garden in the area. What makes this event so wonderful is that proceeds from the event help to transform the Mounts Botanical Garden into what it is today. It helps to enhance plantings, stones and gives the project an opportunity to add to the overall wellness of the garden.
