Ferragamo’s Fifth Avenue flagship property was boarded up night night in preparation for the re-opening today at 10 a.m. The two-story boutique underwent a 13-week renovation to provide a “proper setting” for the brand’s full line of ready-to-wear clothing.
The Ferragamo Fifth Avenue flagship property was revamp and today will re-open with new aesthetics that the brand’s creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti, hopes in more in line with the luxury brand’s ready-to-wear collection. Appointed in 2010, Giornetti wanted the store to provide a proper setting for the collection and thus began the 13-week renovation.
The two-story, 20,000-square-foot space is Ferragamo’s largest and most profitable location. With the renovations complete, the space features a warmer, more residential look that includes walnut wood floors, Venetian plaster, marble tabletops and bamboo stone. Books curated by Giornetti, table sculptures and glass lamps from Italy fill the newly-styled space.
According to reports, Wanda Ferragamo, Salvatore’s 90-year-old widow maintains a hands-on approach to the company and even had a say in the flagship’s redesign.
