Daimler has debuted the new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, which has been completely redeveloped to ensure the ultimate in sportiness, comfort, style and innovation. The new model will be sown at the New York International Auto Show and subsequently in showrooms come November.

The high-performance vehicle has 630 hp and a reworked 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine. The SL 65 AMG has incredible acceleration and for the first time, AMG has combined a revised powerplant with the AMG speedshift plus TG-Tronic, a seven speed automatic gearbox with Blue-efficiency features such as automatic start/stop.

The SL 65 AMG is lower weight due to its lightweight construction with all-aluminum body-shell and carbon fiber, which also reduces its fuel consumption. The model is equipped with a redeveloped electro-mechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering for immediate feedback at the critical limits. There is also an advanced braking system that offers optimum sensitivity and this is the first model to feature the new AMG brand face.

On the inside of the SL 65 AMG there are electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with two-tone of single upholstery in nappa leather with a diamond pattern and embossed AMG emblems on the seat backrest. Other features include seat memory, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG high-end surround sound system, Mercedes’ Command infotainment software, an active parking assist, Keyless go convenience package and hands free access system, magic vision control, anti-theft alarm system, a six-disc DVD changer, climatised seats and multicontour functionality.

The SL 65 AMG is one of the world’s safest roadsters with a crash-optimized aluminum structure, neck-pro crash-responsive head restraints, standard-fit pre-safe systems and assistance systems.

Germany will receive the first deliveries of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG in November. The vehicle will be priced at $312,850.
