A new Hummingbird Bakery has opened its doors today in London, offering the first 1,000 customers free cupcakes.

The fifth Hummingbird to open in London (and the second to open in just the past 12 months), this location promises to stay true to the Hummingbird Bakery practice of baking and decorating all products on site the same day as they are sold.

Located in the Angel Building on St. John Street, the new shop opened today and management offered free cupcakes to the first 1,000 customers.

The first Hummingbird Bakery opened in Portobello Road in early 2004 in hopes of providing Londoners with an alternative to supermarket cupcakes and French patisseries.

Other Hummingbird Bakery locations in London are in Notting Hill, South Ken, Soho and Spitalfields. In addition to offering cupcakes, brownies, cakes, pies, whoopee pies and cookbooks, Hummingbird Bakery also now offers a wide range of Cakes by Consultation for weddings, christenings and other special occasions.

The new Hummingbird Bakery is located in the Angel Building, 403-411 St. John Street, London.
