NY Giants Players Support Build-A-Bear’s ‘Cause for Celebration’

News | December 29, 2011

Last week, just before Christmas, a number of families from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were treated to a special event at Build-A-Bear Workshop on Fifth Avenue. New York Giants wide receiver Michael Clayton and cornerback Aaron Ross hosted a celebrity studded red carpet “Cause For Celebration” event to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This past March, St. Jude partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop to develop the “Cause for Celebration” program, which takes donations from other guests to support the lifesaving research done by St. Jude. In honor of the donations, Build-A-Bear allows patients of all ages to celebrate the milestones in their lives–such as completing cancer treatment and learning to walk again– by giving them the fun of making furry friends.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop was stuffed as tight as a one of the bears not even an hour into the event. Notable attendees included Melissa and Joe Gorga, Meeka and Speedy Claxton, Grizz Chapman, Stephanie Pratt, Amber Collins who is Miss New York USA, and, of course, a number of Clayton’s and Ross’s supporting teammates including Brandon Jacobs, Ramses Barden, Lawrence Tynes, and Kevin Boothe.
