The United Artists building has been chosen as the new location for trendy boutique chain Ace Hotel to open its Los Angeles property.

According to new reports, hip hotel chain the Ace will be opening its first Los Angeles property in the historic United Artists building located on Broadway in the Historic Core district. The hospitality firm has reportedly reached an agreement with Greenfield Partners, the real estate group that bought the United Artists building earlier this year for around $11 million. The Ace currently has properties in Seattle, Portland and New York along with a boutique in Palm Springs.

The United Artists building is a Spanish-Gothic-styled property that opened on December 26, 1927 and has been used as a venue to host world premiers for studio films by Artists founders Douglas Fairbanks, D.W. Griffith and Charlie Chaplin. Ace plans on fully renovating and reactivating the theater as a showpiece for the Los Angeles Ace Hotel.
