Looking to bring home part of its heritage, Roger Vivier spent €19,750 (about $26,629) on an original Roger Vivier design from the 60’s that were created for Princess Soraya, thus making it the world’s most expensive shoe. The original pair was acquired at an auction of the designer’s personal collection. The shoes have silver thread embroidery and are topped with a topaz. Eight years ago, Diego della Valle brought the French luxury accessory house back to life and has joined with artistic director Bruno Frisoni, brand ambassador Ines de la Fressange, the French Shoe Federation and the French State, appearing to buy back the collection of shoes including those designed for John Lennon and Elizabeth Taylor.
