Numbers Don’t Lie: A Look at Cosmetic Surgery

News | November 22, 2011

As you’ve probably noticed, the general population seems to be looking thinner and younger each year. No coincidence here, as the rates of cosmetic surgery have seriously skyrocketed, and continue to increase year after year.

Statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons:

-In 2010, the top five surgical procedures were Breast Augmentation, Nose Reshaping, Eyelid Surgery, Liposuction, Tummy Tuck. It seems the era of reduction is over.

-Botox was the number one minimally invasive procedure in 2010, up 12% since 2009.

-Repeat patients increased business 13%

-Finally the statistic that says the most: in the US, $10.1 dollars were spent on cosmetic surgeries in 2010.

As the New Year approaches, we’re anxious to see what trends and statistics say for 2011.
