Mish New York: Gem of a Store

Just in time for the peak shopping season, jeweler Mish Tworkowski opened a beautifully designed salon to house his even more beautiful jewelry designs.  Hidden behind an unmarked door in Manhattan’s picturesque NoHo neighborhood and open by apppointment only, Mish (as everyone knows him) enlisted his longtime partner, architect Joseph Singer and decorator Ina Lindemann, to transform the three-room space into a whimsical yet earthy store and studio.

Each room in the midblock townhouse is painted in a bright pastel with interesting technique (the reception room’s walls were hand painted to look like petrified wood).  The jewelery— which embodies Mish’s passion for whimsy, color, proportion, and beauty and is crafted from exotic gems—is housed in romantic antique display cases which are offset by contemporary art and furniture.  Mish’s ultra high-end clientele may not ever want to leave this luxe space.
