Smells Good!

News | February 5, 2010

French designer Nicolas Ghesquière recently revealed Balenciaga Paris, a new fragrance created by perfumer Oliver Polge.

“As soon as I arrived at Balenciaga, over 10 years ago, I wanted to create a fragrance. A classic and chic fragrance worthy of a prestigious couture house,” he explained. “I wanted a fragrance that also told an unprecedented story. I wanted Balenciaga Paris to be a fragrance that makes a mark and haunts the memory, a fragrance with delicate mystery.”

Packaged in an elegant bottle, the unique scent invokes thoughts of spring. Floral breezes mix with blossom and sunshine before fading, leaving a peppery kiss and a light touch of mossy wood.

British beauty Charlotte Gainsbourg (daughter of Jane Birkin, actress, singer, and songwriter) was chosen as the face for the new perfume. “Charlotte doesn’t define herself. This fragrance is just like her,” said Ghesquière.

A 1.7 oz. bottle of Balenciaga Paris Eau De Parfum will set you back $95, while a 2.5 oz. costs $130.
