François Pinault Purchases $32 million Home in London
Founder of luxury conglomerate PPR François Pinault has just purchased a $32 million historic mansion in the Chelsea neighborhood of London.
Designed in 1868 by Philip Webb, the “Father of Arts and Crafts architecture,” the home has triple-height ceilings and was previously owned by Professor Bernard Nevill. According to reports, Nevill bought the home for around $110,000 and spent more than 30 years perfecting the interior.
Despite Nevill’s additions, Pinault plans a renovation of his own to reinstate some of the home’s original features and to remodel the bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms.
Pinault owns the Chateau Latour wine estate and is one of France’s wealthiest men. He is also a lover of art and possessed one of the largest collections of contemporary art in the world.
