According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation took the win for the top cosmetic surgery procedure in 2010, with almost 300,000 women getting implants. So, the recent trend in breast augmentation seems unusual. An NBC Miami report says that implant removal is trending.
Is Miami mirroring Hollywood? Victoria Beckham, Sharon Osbourne and Glee’s Heather Morris all had their implants removed. For Morris, the implants were causing more soreness than satisfaction. In the case of some other women, they have them removed for cosmetic reasons—their tastes have changed.
That’s what plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Craft of the Miami Institute for Age Management has been seeing. “Most of our patients are in their 30’s and 40’s and now, as they have matured, prefer a slim silhouette,” said Craft.
There’s little chance that Miamians—and women across the US—will stop getting implants, but it seems they might be back to return them.
