Turtle Island Resort and Sustainable Tourism

Over the last 30 years, more than 500 000 trees have been planted, in an extensive reforestation program. Freshwater ponds have also been introduced to encourage more bird life to the island. Turtle Island Resort, Fiji has also started a Turtle Release Program, which is designed to help save the threatened Green and Hawksbill turtles. All guests and staff dine on locally produced vegetables, grown on Turtle Island Resort, Fiji‘s four-acre hydroponic organic vegetable garden.
