Four Seasons Chef to Open Italian Restaurant in San Francisco Mission

News | August 12, 2011

Edward Higgins, chef at Quattro at the Four Seasons in Palo Alto, is opening a modern Italian restaurant pegged for the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco.

The restaurant, called Baia, or “bay” in Italian, was previously rumored to be opening in Oakland, but now reports are indicating it will in fact be in the Mission area of San Francisco. Higgins is planning on fitting the restaurant with approximately 50 seats in a bright space with a modern Sicilian menu.

Higgins previously worked with Next Iron Chef contestant Marco Canora and continues his work at Hearth and Terrior in New York. His reputation is creating quite a buzz in the San Francisco area as anticipation rises surrounding the spring 2012 planned opening of Baia.
