News | June 8, 2011

What is often considered a paramount LGBT Hamptons occasion, the 2011 Hetrick-Martin Institute annual summer benefit, “School’s Out,” will take place on Saturday, June 11, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the magnificent East Hampton home of Peter Wilson and Scott Sanders.

The institute’s 12th “School’s Out” will commemorate the conclusion of the school year at The Hetrick-Martin Institute and Harvey Milk High School. The event serves as an opportunity for adherents of the agency to celebrate the accomplishments and recognize the challenges of the past year. Presently, the institution benefits over 1,500 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.

This year’s party is supported by an illustrious roll of LGBTQ influentials: Giorgio Armani, Bravo’s Andy Cohen, PR king James LaForce, Kipton Cronkite, Hugo Boss’ Ward Simmons, Daniel Silver of Duckie Brown, and author Robert Zimmerman. Bobby Graham, Matthew Kelleher, and Brendan Monaghan make up the 2011 host committee, and Rugby Ralph Lauren is the premiere sponsor. The evening’s music will come from the delightful DJ Donna D’Cruz.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the event are available online and range from $250-10,000.

The Hetrick-Martin Institute was founded on the belief that all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment to reach their full potential. It remains the oldest and largest non-profit, multi-service agency dedicated to LGBTQ youth. It provides a broad range of vital programming, which includes educational services for at-risk youth in the Harvey Milk High School as well as individual, group, and family counseling; services and case management for homeless and at-risk youth; social and cultural activities; health and wellness activities; and career exploration and youth leadership through the after school services department.
