Haute Event: British Star Ellie Goulding Performs at W San Francisco for Symmetry Live Tour

Acclaimed , 24 year-old British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding took to the stage at W San Francisco as part of W Hotels Worldwide Symmetry Live, the hotel group’s ongoing live concert series that showcases what’s hip and hot in music. Goulding, already a star in the UK, performed hits from her best-selling debut album of 2010, Lights.

Curated by W’s Global Music Director, Michaelangelo L’Acqua, Symmetry Live features intimate, live performances at W Hotels across the country.  The series has dates set for W Hotels in New York City, Chicago, Austin, Fort Lauderdale, and Atlanta for exciting performances to be announced throughout the year.

“Music has always been an integral part of the W experience,” said Carlos Becil, Vice President, North American Brand Management for W Hotels. “Symmetry Live not only provides a great platform for supporting emerging artists in the U.S. but also offers insider access to what’s new and next in music for both our guests and locals alike.”

L’Acqua chose to name the series Symmetry to exhibit the balance between the individual sounds of each performer and how they represent the symmetry between the W way of life, its international destinations and guests.  “In selecting the acts for Symmetry Live, I seek out artists that offer the world a new and interesting point of view in music, those who push the envelope of style and sound in a way that adds to the overall W experience,” said L’Acqua.

Other artists who have performed at W Hotels since the launch in May 2010 include Janelle Monae, newcomers Neon Trees, and Cee Lo Green.

Artists for the upcoming Symmetry Live performances will be announced soon. For more information, please visit www.whotels.com and for stats on the rising star visit, Ellie Goulding’s official website.
