Haute Event: Miami Circle Dedication Ceremony
Celebrate Downtown Miami’s newest urban green space and be part of history as HistoryMiami (formerly the Historical Museum of Southern Florida) dedicates the Miami Circle on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 11:30 a.m.
Shrouded with mystery and controversy since its discovery in 1998, the Miami Circle can be found at the mouth of the Miami River at Brickell Point. The site serves as one of the most important archaeological excavations in modern history as it is the only cut in rock prehistoric structural footprint in eastern North America. The site is also of great importance for the understanding of the local Native American tribe, the Tequesta Indians. Many of the tribe’s components were found at the site and are on view at History Miami.
