Staying Power: Lanvin Hits Bal Harbour
by Eric Christian
It is extremely hard to argue the staying power and longevity of Lanvin. In this day and age, designers come and go but Alber Elbaz and the House of Lanvin continue to give us beautiful, luxurious, and innovative designs for women; his resort and spring 2011 collections reflect just that.
There was no doubt that Elbaz didn’t have a woman in mind for his spring and resort 2011 collections, reflecting a woman that not only works hard but plays hard as well. The Parisian designer stays true to his luxurious urban-chic style that can be worn practically all around the globe from Miami, New York, and Moscow, to Saint Tropez. With a collection that goes from taupe-like colors to bold electric yellows and hot pinks, it is a sight to see! And it is apparent that it is time for this woman to bare a little more skin and play up her wardrobe with more color from fuchsia to yellow, full, long, open skirts that sashayed down the runway paired with leggings, nylon raincoats, and off the shoulder bold, eye-catching asymmetrical body suits.
Lanvin was once synonymous only to cities like New York, Paris, London, Vegas, and Milan but now we all have something to smile about here in Miami because it can be found right at the Bal Harbour Shops.
