It’s an artistic filled weekend Honolulu! From an Internationally acclaimed headliner in concert to a menagerie of local artists stepping out to support good causes, this Thursday through Friday is about all things creative.
Thursday, December 2: Band Camp 2010
Grammy-award winning band, Train, headlines this years Band Camp 8 at the Blaisdell Arena hall. The annual concert event is produced by Tom Moffatt productions in conjuction with local alternative/rock radio station, 101.9. Train, will be joined by Internationally acclaimed guitarist, Orianthi and Hawaii-based bands, Pimpbot and The Throwdowns. Train’s fifth album, “Save Me San Francisco,” features hits “Hey, Soul Sister” and “If It’s Love.” The album as sold more than 500,000 copies. Tickets to Band Camp 8 range from $25 to $45.

Friday, December 3: Anti Canvas
Hurley and Contrast Magazine presents the second annual Anti Canvas party – A Showcase of Boardshort Art for Charity. Held at the hot Chinatown nightlife venue, Soho Hawaii during the monthly First Friday art walk, the event will take place from 5 – 9 p.m. All Anti Canvas proceeds will equally benefit the Junior Lifeguards of Hawaii, the Lokahi Giving Project and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. And as always, Soho will be open for the after-party ‘til 2 a.m. Expect amazing art, support a good cause and enjoy a sure-to-be fantastic night out in Chinatown.

Saturday, December 4: Spread the Word
This event is for all-things creative; art, music, dance, poetry, and cuisine. Taking place this Saturday at the Hawaii Convention Center, the inaugural Spread the Word event is expected to be a first-class fete celebrating art industries of Hawaii. From 6 – 10 p.m., over 30 artist exhibits will be on display while talented musicians, poets and dancers take center stage. Guests will also enjoy cuisine from the states top chefs like Eric Leterc from the Pacific Club, Hardy Kintscher of Michel’s, Almar Arcano from Formaggio, Jason Peel from Roy’s Waikiki and many more. Proceeds from the event will contribute to three non-profit organizations; Project Focus Hawaii, Makaulila Inc. and Plaekana Kai Ocean Safety Team. Tickets are $85.
