David Yarrow and Menagerie Wine have created something far rarer than a bottle of wine — a statement about beauty, rarity, and our responsibility to the natural world.

In the world of fine art, few names evoke as much power, emotion, and visual drama as David Yarrow. From polar bears adrift on icebergs to sweeping wilderness landscapes and intimate portraits of endangered animals, his photography captures moments of breathtaking intensity — images that stop you cold and refuse to let go. For years, Yarrow dreamed of creating a wine that could embody that same drama and elegance, one worthy of being shared at his galleries around the world. The result is a collaboration that feels less like a business partnership and more like a shared manifesto.

Enter Menagerie, the boutique Napa Valley wine brand founded by Ricky and Lisa Novak on a promise made during the earliest days of their relationship — a shared vision, born on a trip to Napa Valley, that one day they would produce wines of genuine distinction. What began as a personal dream has evolved into something far more consequential: a world-class label crafted by an extraordinary team, guided by an unwavering commitment to both excellence and philanthropy.

The connection between Yarrow and Menagerie is rooted in something deeper than aesthetics. Both share a profound dedication to Tusk.org, the celebrated wildlife conservation charity with HRH The Prince of Wales as its Royal Patron. That shared mission — to protect Earth’s rare and endangered species — sparked a collaboration that felt as natural as it was inspired.

“Perhaps one day we will find life elsewhere, but I doubt it will be half as special as what we have on the planet that we are lucky enough to call home.” — David Yarrow

The Wine Itself

The Yarrow x Menagerie Cabernet Sauvignon is unapologetically bold yet unmistakably refined. On the nose, aromas of dark cherry, cassis, and dark chocolate unfold with a whisper of holiday spice. The palate is full-bodied but precise — layers of black plum and black currant framed by the silky, structured tannins that have become the signature of great Napa Cabernet. A lingering finish touched by French oak speaks to a wine built not for today, but for decades of evolving elegance.

Production is deliberately, defiantly limited — fewer than 50 cases per vintage for the 2021 and 2022 vintages. The 2017 and 2018 vintages produced just 64 cases each; the 2021 vintage, a mere 47. Each bottle is signed, with magnum bottles individually numbered, and destined for serious cellars. This is not a wine you discover at a corner shop. This is a wine that finds you.

Every Bottle Has a Purpose

Menagerie is proud to partner with Tusk.org — the renowned wildlife conservation charity with HRH The Prince of Wales as Royal Patron. With each purchase, a portion of proceeds is donated directly to Tusk, supporting vital efforts to protect the planet’s most vulnerable species. It is a commitment that runs through every label, every vintage, every case.

“Despite facing some of the greatest challenges to international conservation in history, Tusk continues to be a shining light in what are tragically dark times for Africa’s wildlife.” — HRH Prince William

David Yarrow’s commitment to conservation runs equally deep. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Yarrow took up photography at an early age before spending years in banking, ultimately selling his hedge fund in 2014 to return to his true passion. Over the last four years, sales of his work have exceeded $125 million — including over $15 million raised for philanthropic causes. His portraits of the world’s most endangered animals, often taken in remote and extraordinary locations, aim to convey not just a sense of place, but a sense of character.

From Napa to London — and Beyond

As word of the collaboration has spread through collectors and galleries alike, interest in the wine has grown well beyond Napa Valley. What began as a shared passion project has evolved into a global story. The opening of the London market marks an exciting new chapter — introducing the wine to one of the world’s great cultural and collecting capitals, one of the many global hubs where Yarrow’s photography has already found a devoted following.

It is the first step in a carefully considered, multi-city global expansion designed to bring this rare collaboration to a small, discerning circle of collectors around the world. The ambition is not scale — it is significance. To place these bottles in the hands of those who understand that a great wine, like a great photograph, is not merely consumed. It is experienced, remembered, and preserved.

The Yarrow x Menagerie Cabernet Sauvignon is, ultimately, a wine for people who believe that beauty carries responsibility. That collecting is not merely accumulation, but stewardship. That the finest things in life — a photograph that stops time, a wine that demands decades of patience — are worth protecting, just as the creatures that inspire them deserve to be protected. In that sense, every bottle is not just a collector’s treasure. It is a pledge.
