It’s to no surprise that we are fans of Dorothee Schumacher; in fact, we have a whole story about how this is one of the hautest brands to know. And what you might not know is that Dorothee Schumacher’s latest collection actually draws inspiration from the brand’s work on The Atelier Dance Project.

Created in close connection with dancer Brian McNeal, the collaborative effort reflects Dorothee Schumacher’s identity and artistic design process—and is brought forward in the latest Spring/Summer Collection campaign. “Sometimes we have to turn everything upside down for a good idea,” founder Dorothee Schumacher says. “Everything we do is a team effort. Each day in the Atelier, I experience how the interplay of individual strengths gives rise to a special kind of energy. Every collection has its own rhythm, its own flow–an interlocking of elements that creates something truly unique.”

The Atelier Dance Project opens the doors to a place that is otherwise hidden: Dorothee Schumacher’s Atelier. Here, they brand not only designs fashion, but experiences it as a living process that spans from a first idea to the finished garment. Instead of a traditional runway, the brand created an intimate space where craftsmanship, emotion, and movement blend together. The collection is not simply presented, but told through the body, rhythm, and expression.

And that leaves us with the Spring/Summer Collection, a series of pieces that are defined by the tension between soft femininity and casual sportiness, breaking the standardized either/or: lingerie meets urban styling, lace meets sporty details. The collection embodies a modern femininity that combines strength and lightness, deliberately traversing the space between opposites. In the Atelier Dance Project, this duality is not only visible but is also experienced physically.
