Super Bowl weekend may revolve around the game, but in San Francisco, the real action unfolded long before kickoff. From waterfront concerts and exclusive member-only soirées to carnival-sized blowouts and A-list DJ sets, the city transformed into a high-wattage playground where NFL legends, Grammy winners, Hollywood stars, and cultural heavyweights collided. This was the weekend the Bay went full spectacle — and everyone showed up, ready to play.

The night before the Super Bowl, Sports Illustrated’s SI The Party Presented by DraftKings pulled together a guest list that felt more awards show than pre-game warmup, with Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber, Kevin Hart, Travis Kelce, Travis Scott, Jason Kelce, J Balvin, Jon Hamm, Ciara, Russell Wilson, Sofía Vergara, Machine Gun Kelly, Kane Brown, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Dave Portnoy, Rob Gronkowski, Dwight Howard, Drew Brees, Tyreek Hill, Trevor Lawrence, Robert Griffin III, Bill Burr, Michael Rubin, Madelyn Cline, Alix Earle, Lil Baby, Quavo, Ariana Madix, Livvy Dunne, Becky G, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Jason Tartick, Disco Lines, Ellie Thumann, Caleb Pressley, Chris Eubanks, Cooper DeJean, Cam Skattebo, Sam Hartman, T.J. Ward, Jameis Winston, Breland, and Paul Bissonnette all under one roof; the energy only escalated once the performances began, with Ludacris igniting the room with his remix of “Baby” and bringing Justin Bieber on stage, Travis Kelce grabbing the mic alongside The Chainsmokers for a playful tribute to fiancée Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” Travis Scott hyping the crowd during “How Low,” and football royalty Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, and George Kittle sharing a full-circle moment onstage together, while Jon Hamm held court front row, dancing through the set as if kickoff had already happened — a reminder that when it comes to Super Bowl weekend, the real spectacle often unfolds long before the first snap.

If Super Bowl weekend needed an unofficial kickoff, Shaquille O’Neal delivered it at Shaq’s Fun House Presented by Credit One Bank, transforming the Bay into a 5,000-person carnival-meets-music-festival spectacle packed with surprise moments and superstar energy. The larger-than-life affair saw Shaquille O’Neal (aka DJ Diesel) command the stage alongside explosive sets from T-Pain, Tiësto, Disco Lines, and Myles O’Neal, while Kane Brown sent the crowd into a frenzy with a surprise onstage appearance, and T.I. jumped in to debut new music. At one point, Tiffany Haddish and Shaquille O’Neal shared a heartfelt hug mid-chaos, while even the local PD joined the party spirit. The guest list was just as stacked, with Becky G, Guy Fieri and Hunter Fieri, Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek, Adam Devine, Andrew Fedyk and Joe DePace of Loud Luxury, Ariana Madix, Blake Anderson, Chloe Bridges, Grace O’Malley, Jenna Bandy, Landon Dickerson, Lyrics Born, Moneybagg Yo, NaVarro Bowman, Swerve Strickland, and Sketch all in attendance — proving that when Shaq throws a party, it’s not just big… it’s Super Bowl big.

For the third year running, FanDuel and Spotify joined forces to host the invite-only FanDuel Party Powered by Spotify at San Francisco’s Pier 29, delivering one of the most electric nights of Super Bowl weekend with a stacked performance lineup and an equally star-powered crowd. The waterfront venue pulsed as Bay Area icons Counting Crows opened with classics like “Mr. Jones,” “A Long December,” and “Rain King,” before hometown legends Green Day stormed the stage, with Billie Joe Armstrong leading a full-throttle set packed with “American Idiot,” “Basket Case,” “Holiday,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “When I Come Around,” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” ultimately closing the night with a stripped-down solo performance of “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” that had the room swaying; the celebration wrapped with a high-energy DJ set from Jungle, who spun “Candle to a Flame,” “Casio,” “Back on 74,” and “I’ve Been in Love.” In the crowd, the scene was just as headline-worthy, with Tyra Banks rocking out from the VIP deck, Rob Gronkowski dancing his way down the blue carpet before joining Camille Kostek to sing along to Green Day’s set, and guests including Tyreek Hill, Matthew Lillard, Kay Adams, Connor Wood, Matt Cornett, Maggie Thurmon, Michael Irvin, Meena Harris, Kelley O’Hara, Kameryn Stanhouse, Will Compton, and Taylor Lewan (of Bussin’ with the Boys) filling the space with sports, music, and pop culture star power, while a coveted merch station gifting limited-edition San Francisco ’26 letterman jackets and jerseys quickly became one of the hottest stops of the night.
