This Is the Closest You’ll Get to Having Tea With Timothée Chalamet

Let’s be clear: you are not actually sitting across from Timothée Chalamet at a candlelit table, locking eyes over Earl Grey.

But at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, this is quite literally the closest — and chicest — you’re going to get.

For awards season, the hotel’s cult-favorite Prêt-à-Portea: The Red Carpet Collection returns with a lineup that turns 2025’s most talked-about red carpet moments into edible couture. Think high tea, but make it Hollywood, hyper-stylized, and very aware of who won, who wore what, and why it mattered.

Timothée, naturally, gets top billing. His butter-yellow Givenchy suit from the 2025 Academy Awards — equal parts whimsical and risk-taking — is reimagined as a lemon biscuit finished with whipped royal icing. It’s playful, elegant, and just eccentric enough to feel completely on brand. This is, quite literally, the closest you’ll ever get to having tea with him—and yes, people will talk about it.

But this is very much an ensemble cast. Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter makes an appearance via her retro-glam JW Anderson Grammys look, translated into a vanilla meringue pavlova layered with milk chocolate crémeux and Earl Grey caramel—sweet, nostalgic, and unmistakably chic. Ariana Grande’s ethereal Schiaparelli Oscars gown—an unapologetic nod to Glinda fantasy—becomes an exotic baba soaked in coconut, paired with lychee cream and white chocolate rocher. It’s airy, dreamy, and quietly dramatic. Then there’s Jenna Ortega, whose dark, gemstone-heavy Givenchy Emmys look takes form as an espresso mousse filled with coffee praline and flourless cake, enrobed in dulcey chocolate. It’s moody, rich, and not remotely trying to be sweet—which feels exactly right. Even menswear gets its moment. Jeremy Strong’s now-iconic teal velvet Loro Piana suit from the Golden Globes—bucket hat, sunglasses, and all—appears as a vanilla sablé with royal icing. Minimalist, precise, and quietly obsessive. Method tea, if you will.

What Prêt-à-Portea does so brilliantly is walk the line between indulgence and insider wink. You don’t need to have memorized every awards-season look to enjoy it — but if you did, there’s a thrill in recognizing the references before the server explains them. Fashion people food, in the best sense.

The Beverly Hills iteration feels especially at home: polished yet playful, glamorous without taking itself too seriously. You dress up. You sip slowly. You take photos you’ll absolutely post. And for an hour or two, you live in a universe where couture is edible and awards season never really ends. So no, you won’t actually have tea with Timothée Chalamet. But you will have tea inspired by him — alongside Ariana, Sabrina, Jenna, Jeremy, and the rest of the red carpet fantasy — served in one of Beverly Hills’ most elegant rooms. And honestly? That’s even better.
