YASU OMAKASE

Michelin-recognized Chef Yasu Tanaka, in partnership with Spicy Hospitality Group, introduces YASU Omakase—an intimate 8-seat counter experience in Miami’s Design District that opened in January 2025—offering his most personal and refined vision of sushi rooted in his Yamanashi heritage and traditional Japanese sushiya rituals. Guests enjoy a meticulously curated 14–16-course omakase menu priced around $250, featuring 3–5 otsumami small plates, premium nigiri blending Toyosu Market imports with exceptional Florida coastal fish, house-seasoned soy sauces, seasonal Niigata rice, a signature hand roll, and a seasonal dessert, all crafted with precision and a subtle Miami coastal vibrancy through collaboration with longtime partner Chef Raymond Li.

The serene space fuses Japanese craftsmanship—like a centerpiece 600-year-old untreated hinoki counter polished daily with rice bran, intricate kumiko woodworking, and custom Yamanashi ceramics—with Nordic minimalism and comfortable PP Møbler chairs, while the beverage program highlights a curated selection of rare sakes with optional pairings and a concise complementary wine list; a private room with a second hinoki counter is planned for special occasions, elevating Chef Tanaka’s influential presence in Miami’s dining scene with this deeply authentic yet innovative omakase encounter.

Fooq’s, the beloved Mediterranean-inspired restaurant founded by restaurateur David Foulquier, makes a highly anticipated return to Miami on January 23, 2026, reopening in the heart of Little River at 150 NW 73rd Street after a four-year hiatus, evolving into an expansive 14,000-square-foot, two-story cultural hub that blends warm hospitality, community focus, and global inspirations. Originally launched in Downtown Miami in 2015 as a personal tribute to Foulquier’s French-Persian roots and travels, the new iteration—designed by Joyn Studio in a “hippie chic” style with Middle Eastern influences, 70s textures, mid-century elements, a prominent personal bookshelf of family artifacts, commissioned art by Austyn Weiner, and music-related photography—creates an immersive, home-like atmosphere where guests can linger over shareable, wood-fired dishes led by Executive Chef Andrew Bazzini, featuring refined yet approachable New American cuisine with prominent Persian undertones, seasonal local produce, large-format proteins, vegetable-driven plates, and communal dining in mind.

Upstairs, the music-forward vinyl lounge Lion’s Den, programmed by Foulquier alongside Manuel Mate and Mariana Pinto, hosts local and international DJs late into the night; the beverage program shines with a collector-level list of about 1,000 vintage wines from regions like Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rioja, and Napa, plus refined cocktails infused with Persian ingredients such as saffron, pistachio, and pomegranate, an artisanal spirits selection with strong agave emphasis, and non-alcoholic Persian sharbats. This reimagined Fooq’s reinforces Little River’s rise as an exciting Miami neighborhood while reaffirming its enduring role as a place for connection, memory-making, and authentic excellence in the city’s evolving dining scene.

BEYBEY

BEYBEY has officially opened in Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood, introducing a groundbreaking live-fire culinary concept that masterfully blends the smoky traditions of Beirut’s mashawi and Yucatán’s cocina de humo, led by acclaimed Chef Roberto Solís (of Huniik, ranked #36 on World’s 50 Best) in his first U.S. venture, alongside Chef de Cuisine GeoffLee (Miami New Times Best Chef 2019), in collaboration with hospitality visionary Tiger Saliba and co-creator Sam Baum. Rooted in the Lebanese phrase “Beyte Beytak” meaning “my home is your home,” the intimate, welcoming space—conceived as an extension of Saliba’s journey from Beirut to Miami after the 2020 port explosion—features an open charcoal and wood-fired kitchen turning out shareable, globally inspired plates that fuse Middle Eastern boldness with Mexican vibrancy.

The beverage program elevates the experience with a spirited cocktail menu riffing on classics through Middle Eastern and Latin lenses, an impressive wine list emphasizing small-production bottlings from benchmark regions in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and select New World options.

Amazónico, the acclaimed Latin American-inspired restaurant, bar, and lounge originally launched in Madrid in 2016 by Sandro Silva and Marta Seco and expanded globally to London, Dubai, and Monte-Carlo, made its highly anticipated U.S. debut in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood on September 26, 2025, at 800 Brickell Avenue, transforming a three-floor venue into a multi-sensory destination that channels 1970s Brazilian vibes with lush, jungle-inspired design by Lázaro Rosa Violán featuring deep greens, volcanic stone, tropical woods, woven textures, and modernist Latin American influences. The ground-floor restaurant offers indoor and open-air dining with an open kitchen, live bands nightly on stage, and a shareable menu rooted in Brazilian traditions reinterpreted through refined dishes like Ensalada Amazónica with mango and avocado, Arroz Chaufa with duck breast, Lubina Al Espeto sea bass over open fire, Picanha Rodizio, Wagyu de Bife, and Miami-exclusive highlights such as Centollo con Caviar (king crab with nikkei dressing) and Guacho de Langostinos prawns in coconut bisque.

Ascending via mirrored staircase, the second floor houses a vibrant Bar & Lounge with resident DJs and percussionists, bold cocktails like Sangria Blanca, Amazonegroni, Palomito, and Peacock Spritz in signature glassware, an intimate sushi counter for crudos, nigiri, and makis, plus private dining for up to 14; the third-floor rooftop, which opened in October 2025, provides seductive skyline views with the full cocktail menu, while a luxurious late-night club inspired by Monte-Carlo’s Selva debuted in November as a separate jungle-themed nightlife hideaway open late on select nights. Curated by Group Sommelier Vincent Pastorello, the wine list celebrates Spanish heritage, South American diversity from Argentina and Chile, iconic French regions, and global New World selections to complement the vibrant, connective experience that perfectly aligns with Miami’s cultural rhythm and energy.
