Haider Ackermann’s takeover of Canada Goose has been anything but subtle. Appointed the first-ever creative director of the performance luxury outerwear and clothing label last May, Ackermann has since taken Canada Goose to new heights—and continues to do so. Just last week, Ackermann’s third Snow Goose by Canada Goose collection launched. The collection completely redefines winter wear and element protection through a lens that’s inspired by its connection to nature.
In this collection, the brand’s Arctic heritage has evolved into pieces grounded in purpose, authenticity, and respect for nature. The weight of winter becomes completely reimagined through an unexpected play of lightness, color, and texture: linings become exteriors, quilting is reversible, and performance materials are take on new softness and optimism.
“Winter is often imagined as a season of silence, as quiet or still,” says Ackermann, Creative
Director. “But I wanted this collection to breathe, to move with the rhythm of life that persists beneath the cold and capture the pulse of life in the cold. Shooting this campaign with Willie Nelson was an incredible honor and something I’d dreamed of since my earliest days with Canada Goose. His raw honesty, his reverence for the earth and its creatures, remind us of what endurance really means.”

Photographed by Tim Elkaïm and alongside Nelson, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai. Tasha Tilberg, Stevie Sims, Xiaowen Ju and Connor Newall star in the campaign. In this cast that spans generations and disciplines, all are united by a deep reverence for the natural world and a shared purpose and responsibility to protect it.

To put the collection (and the purpose behind it) into action, tie it all together, a select group of individuals journeyed with Ackermann to Churchill, Manitoba for a four-expedition in the land that defines Canada Goose. Known for its polar bear population along the coast of the Hudson Bay, Churchill is one of the most unique and incredible places on this planet. Canada Goose’s has a longstanding partnership with Polar Bears International (PBI), an organization that works to research and protect the polar bears. Now, Canada Goose is doing their part to help save the planet—one polar bear at a time. Do your part.
