For anyone that wants to escape reality, Booked and Busy is where listeners can dive into Ponton’s favorite books—and hear her discuss with her friends about their favorite reads. We had our own little chat with Ponton to hear about her new podcast, as well as everything else books and beyond.

Haute Living: Talk to us about Booked & Busy. Where did the idea for this come from?
Olivia Ponton: I’ve been an avid reader for years, and I found myself craving a space where I could really dive into the stories that influenced the way I think. I knew that if I was looking for deeper conversations about the books I love, many others must share this feeling. I’m continually intrigued by how authors create rich, imaginative worlds, and I envisioned a platform where I could explore their process, inspirations, and the art of writing. Thus, Booked & Busy was born as that welcoming home.
HL: What are you currently reading?
OP: At the moment, I’m listening to “Bride” by Ali Hazelwood, which offers a delightful blend of romance and witty banter. Then I am reading “Conform” by Ariel Sullivan, a thought-provoking exploration of societal norms and individuality. Both novels have captured my imagination, mixing emotional depth with thought-provoking topics that keep me engrossed.
HL: Favorite book of all time?
An impossible question… but if I had to choose, I’d say Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. It’s the only book I’ve ever read twice, the characters’ love triangle and plot twists always pull back into the world she’s created.
OP: Where is your favorite place to read?
My favorite place to read is definitely my bed, where I can be cozy. However, I often find myself nodding off instead of staying up like I plan. For more productive reading sessions, I gravitate to my couch in New York, where the bright city lights keep me up. It’s the perfect nook that allows me to immerse myself in the stories.
HL: What do you wear when you curl up with a good book?
OP: I love a matching long-sleeve sleep set, especially during the colder months. I’m perpetually cold, so anything soft and cozy is perfect. I rotate between sets from Victoria’s Secret, Dairy Boy, and Tommy Hilfiger.
