Celebrating 15 Years of Spinelli Kilcollin: An Interview with the Founders Ahead of the Brand’s Anniversary

Since its founding in 2010 by Yves Spinelli and Dwyer Kilcollin, eponymous fine jewelry brand Spinelli Kilcollin has grown to become a leader in luxury accessorizing. Known for its signature linked rings, the brand’s distinctive aesthetic is complemented by careful craftsmanship and ethical design.

In honor of its 15th anniversary, Spinelli Kilcollin launched The Only One Original campaign, which pays tribute to the first design that inspired and shaped the brand’s creative vision. In addition to this milestone, it’s also celebrating the first anniversary of its Los Angeles flagship store and an upcoming London opening at the end of November.
We spoke to the founders to hear all about this exciting year for the brand, as well as everything we can look forward to as the brand commemorates its retail expansion, global reach, and continues to solidify its position as a figurehead in contemporary fine jewelry.
Haute Living: What was the original inspiration behind Spinelli Kilcollin?
Yves Spinelli: I was a salesperson at Maxfield in Los Angeles for many years, selling clothing from incredible designers, so it was through osmosis. One day, I had an idea for a connected ring I could wear across three fingers. My father made it for me, and I started wearing it to work. A client asked if she could buy one, so my father made a few more. I met Dwyer at the store while they were shopping, and we started dating. I made them a ring, and we started getting orders from strangers. We wanted to be self-employed and work together, and recognized the potential of this ring concept, and that’s how we started building our brand.

HL: What does 15 years of Spinelli mean to you? Did you ever think it would become this big?
YS: As we’ve grown, we’ve worked hard to maintain the authenticity and outsider mentality we started with. That’s what makes our brand unique, and it’s really what draws us to continue to build the company. Our core philosophy, everything is connected, guides the way we design and collaborate, develop our team, and our approach to social and environmental awareness, and is at the core of our client relationships.
HL: Talk to me about The Only One Original campaign. How did that come about?
DK: The Only One Original campaign is about how everything started — with a phone call between Yves and his father. Yves described his idea for a ring that could stretch across the hand, and Antoine interpreted it in his own way from halfway across the world. That exchange was open to interpretation and imperfection, and it gave birth to the very first Spinelli Kilcollin ring.
YS: This campaign celebrates that act of creation — something unplanned, authentic, and deeply personal. It’s a reminder that originality doesn’t always come from control or perfection, but from connection, collaboration, and trust. The first ring was made through conversation, intuition, and love, and that spirit still defines everything we do. The Only One Original honors where we began, recognizing that each person who wears our pieces continues that story. Each ring becomes part of a greater constellation of individuality, creativity, and connection.

HL: What are your favorite pieces from the brand?
YS: I always wear a version of my original Aquarius ring across three fingers—I alternate between a black gold version and one in 22kt gold.
