From Girl Talk to a Global Brand, These Gals Got it Going On
Through the years, Gals on the Go has become more than just a podcast; instead, the Gals’ relatability has helped foster a strong and powerful female community surrounding their podcast. What began as two college students documenting their days has turned into a lifestyle, guiding women through their twenties and beyond. As these Gals speak about their newly elevated rebrand, the duo also opens up about navigating boundaries, the importance of staying grounded, and more.

Haute Living: Authenticity is a core theme of Gals on the Go. How do you both balance sharing vulnerable, unfiltered moments with your audience while maintaining personal boundaries, especially as your platform has grown?
Gals on the Go: It can be a challenge to strike the correct balance between being 100% open and honest with our listeners and not oversharing personal moments in our lives that may impact others. We have certainly gotten ourselves into trouble over the years by discussing matters that may be best kept private, but that is just the gals for you! With time, we’ve learned to navigate those boundaries a little better. At the end of the day, our goal is to be authentic, but also to protect the people and relationships that are most important to us! We have found that you can still be raw and relatable without sharing absolutely everything. It’s all about listening to your intuition and trusting what feels right.
HL: Can you walk us through your rebrand? Why was this important for you, and what did the process look like?
GOTG: After hosting the podcast for nearly seven years, we have come to realize that our audience has grown with us through life’s milestones and changes. What started as two college gals navigating early adulthood has now become a space where we explore just about everything. The rebrand was important because it reflects the evolution of both our lives and community. We wanted the look, feel, and tone of the show to match where we are today: elevated, yet still authentic. The process was very collaborative, involving numerous Pinterest boards and creative individuals. It took us some time to nail down the exact direction we wanted to take, but landing on a few unique “moments,” such as the vintage car scene and the escalators, helped everything else come together. We were fortunate to work with many inspiring and incredibly talented women throughout the rebranding process.
HL: As you’ve transitioned from students to established businesswomen, how have your goals and approach to content creation evolved? What new directions are you most excited about?
GOTG: We are excited to explore other ways to connect with our audience as we begin hosting community events in New York City and beyond! Nothing, and we mean nothing, means more to us than meeting our listeners in real life! Our goals have shifted from simply showing up on the mic every week to thinking long-term about how Gals on the Go can evolve into a lifestyle brand and community.
HL: Your podcast resonates with women in their twenties and beyond. What strategies help you ensure your discussions on relationships, friendships, and trends remain attainable and impactful?
GOTG: We love to engage with our community and connect through DMs, polls, and our newsletter to see what’s happening in their lives and how they are responding to our content. We try to prioritize what our audience is asking for. At the end of the day, we approach every episode like a FaceTime with a best friend, which naturally keeps things grounded and relatable.
HL: Building a loyal community is no small feat. How do you engage with your listeners to foster connection and empowerment? What has been the most rewarding part of this journey?
GOTG: Instagram, YouTube, and our newsletter on Substack have been huge tools for connecting with the Gal Pals online. However, honestly, the most impactful moments often are in person! Whether it’s at our GOTG live shows, meet-and-greets, or even random encounters on the street, it makes our DAY! We always say the most rewarding part of this job is meeting podcast listeners IRL, especially when they tell us how an episode helped them through a tough time or made them feel less alone. Those moments remind us why we started the show in the first place and inspire us to put out the best content possible.
