Florida Grand Opera, the oldest performing arts organization in Florida and the fourth-oldest opera company in the United States, has unveiled a groundbreaking new season set to mark its 85th anniversary. This milestone year introduces a highly anticipated in-house orchestra, representing a bold revitalization for one of the nation’s most storied cultural institutions.

The season will feature a stellar lineup of internationally acclaimed artists, including Roberto Alagna, Ryan Speedo Green, Aleksandra Kurzak, Joyce El-Khoury, Arturo Chacón-Cruz, Netanel Hershtik, Nathan Gunn, Ginger Costa-Jackson, Louis Otey, Elliot Madore, Bernie Williams, Jonathan Tetelman, Pablo Mielgo, and Tomer Zvulun, among many other celebrated names.

General Director and CEO Maria Todaro expressed her excitement for the company’s renaissance, noting that this year’s roster is not just about performances but also about helping to rebuild and strengthen the opera’s future. She emphasized the vision of creating an opera house that truly represents South Florida while reclaiming its place as one of the great stages of the world.

The season will open November 9, 2025, with the Richard Tucker Music Foundation 50th Anniversary Gala — Miami Edition, marking the first time the prestigious event will be hosted in Miami. This tribute to one of America’s most renowned opera singers will feature moving performances and a special appearance by his son, Barry Tucker.

From November 15 to December 6, 2025, audiences will experience Kevin Puts’s Pulitzer Prize–winning opera Silent Night, which tells the true story of the World War I Christmas Truce. With performances in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, this emotionally powerful production blends soaring music with a profound message of humanity and peace.

In January 2026, the company will present Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, a sparkling operetta filled with wit, charm, and the glamour of old Vienna reimagined with Miami’s dynamic flair. Running from January 24 to 27, the production promises an evening of laughter, lavish costumes, and unforgettable melodies.

March 2026 will see the arrival of Puccini’s Turandot, a centennial tribute to the composer’s final masterpiece. Presented from March 7 to 28 in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the production will blend the opera’s legendary score and dramatic power with innovative visual elements, creating a spectacular homage to its historic La Scala premiere.

The season will conclude on May 6, 2026, with Opera & All-Stars with Bernie Williams, Jonathan Tetelman, and Friends. Presented in partnership with All-Star Encore, the concert will honor Mental Health Month and highlight the healing power of music while raising awareness for the Voices of Wellness initiative, which supports veterans, first responders, and medical personnel.

With an extraordinary blend of legacy, innovation, and artistry, Florida Grand Opera’s 2025–2026 season is poised to captivate audiences and reaffirm its role as a cultural cornerstone of South Florida. Full details and ticket information are available at www.fgo.org.
