Alice’s Tokyo Drive: A Lush Citrus Ride with a Shiso Twist

Our cocktail of the week comes courtesy of Alice, a whimsical hideaway where coastal Italy flirts with downtown New York, tucked beneath a brownstone on a quiet West Village street. Descend the steps into a candlelit grotto of lobster dishes, handmade pastas, and bright seafood plates that feel kissed by sun and salt. With its enchanted glow and dreamlike charm, Alice draws in curious hearts, spirited diners, and the night itself. Here, the cocktails are playful and surprising — herbaceous, floral, sometimes a little wild — which brings us to our current cocktail of the week pick: the Tokyo Drive.

This is a bright and tropical libation with tart citrus from the yuzu and lime, exotic fruit depth from Chinola, herbal lift from shiso, and smooth sweetness from agave.

Says Waél Deek, the managing partner and beverage director of OneMoreHospitality, which owns and operates Alice, “Tokyo Drive is a golden pour of summer. How to Make the Tokyo Drive

Ingredients:
•    2 oz Yuzu-Infused Sake
•    1 oz Chinola (Passion Fruit Liqueur)
•    0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
•    0.25 oz Blue Agave Syrup
•    2 Fresh Shiso Leaves (for shake)

Method:
1.    Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.
2.    Tear and lightly muddle the shiso leaves.
3.    Add ice and shake until well chilled.
4.    Fine strain into a rocks glass over a large ice sphere or 3–4 small ice spheres.

Glassware: Rocks glass
Garnish: Fresh shiso leaf floated on top
