“With our newest Tiffany Home collection, we pay homage to our heritage of uplifting unconventional artists—creative revolutionaries like César Baldaccini,” says Santo Domingo. “The collection taps into his radical creativity to express the notion of breaking conventions of modern living. At their core, these collections celebrate Tiffany’s heritage and our longstanding connection to the art world.”

Central to this collaboration are exquisite dessert plates and espresso cups with saucers, designed to elevate any tea service. Inspired by César’s 1973 “broken plate” concept, Tiffany & Co. reintroduces three archival porcelain designs from Le Tallec, a prestigious French atelier. These plates feature a trompe-l’oeil mosaic design accentuated by vibrant hues of Tiffany Blue® or gemstone-inspired colors, seamlessly blending irony and poetry. The striking mosaics reflect César’s fascination with reimagining and repurposing everyday objects, an artistic approach that adorned his own kitchen and garden.

Complementing the tableware, the collection includes gold-plated teaspoons with vibrant enamel handles, as well as handwoven linens crafted from flax fibers for strength and absorbency. These lines feature intricate plume details, echoing the iconic Bird on a Rock motif. Gold-plated vermeil flatware sets, named Hampton and Chrysanthemum, further enhance the opulent experience. The Art Nouveau-inspired Chrysanthemum set and the regal Hampton set, influenced by England’s Hampton Court, showcase Tiffany’s dedication to impeccable proportion, balance, and craftsmanship.
Beyond tableware, the Tiffany & Co. x Fondation César collection introduces a stunning charger, two candlesticks, and salt and pepper bowls inspired by César’s celebrated Expansions series. Originating in the late 1960s from his experimentation with expanded polyurethane foam, the Expansions evolved into freeform bronze sculptures, some of which reflect the Art Nouveau style that Tiffany has long embraced.

Stephanie Busuttil-Janssen, Founder and President of the César Foundation, emphasizes the personal connection to César’s artistic ethos: “César was fascinated with the idea of repurposing and recontextualizing. He took the idea of a broken plate and applied a new vision. His kitchen walls and ceiling were covered with white and blue broken plates, classic ceramics that he found in the market. It was beautiful. Even his garden featured broken plates—it’s something that is very César.”
