Another Art Basel Miami Beach season is upon us — a time that completely electrifies the city of Miami, where different iterations of art take form. From highly exclusive parties and art installations to fashion collaborations and activations, we’re revealing the ultimate guide to Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 ahead.

The Miami Design District

As Miami’s vibrant hub for art and culture, the Miami Design District (MDD) will feature an impressive lineup of installations and exhibitions, including this year’s annual Design Commission, titled Pearl Jam . The Miami Design District, in collaboration with Design Miami Curatorial Lab, presents Nicole Nomsa Moyo’s Pearl Jam, celebrating its 10th edition with an installation inspired by South Africa’s Ndebele tribe, featuring interactive life-size sculptures, giant pearls, and over 1,000 handcrafted ‘earrings ‘made by indigenous Ndebele women.

New York-based artist Alteronce Gumby will debut this December his largest work to date, Living the Dream , a site-specific mural in the MDD, comprised of stained glass, gemstones, fossils, and mosaic tiles inspired by Fauvism and his exploration of cosmic themes.

Another major moment for the MDD, the Craig Robins Collection in Miami, featuring over 1,500 contemporary art and design pieces, will showcase highlights, including works by Kai Althoff, Jana Euler, and recent acquisitions in its 2024-25 rehang at the Dacra headquarters.

The Fairs

From the fair’s perspective, Art Miami, the flagship fair, will showcase remarkable presentations, including Castle Fine Art featuring works by Boy George and Johnny Depp, Long-Sharp Gallery with iconic pieces by Andy Warhol, and Galerie Raphael offering limited-edition prints by Alex Katz. At CONTEXT Art Miami, Taglialatella Galleries will unveil Russell Young’s new collection in collaboration with MLB and Derek Jeter, while CONTEXT Talks will present a dynamic lineup of industry discussions with notable figures like Donna and Mark Isham, Tiffany Trenda, and Paco Barragán. Meanwhile, Aqua Art Miami will come alive with Ashley Longshore’s vibrant creations and the highly anticipated debut of Paris Brosnan.

The Parties

It wouldn’t be a proper Art Basel Miami Beach without a few parties. In true Haute Living fashion, this week is set to be full of exclusive  Haute Living happenings, from intimate cover dinners celebrating a few of Haute Living’s Art Basel covers and an event with Ronnie Fieg celebrating Chapter III of the Kith x BMW collaboration to the exclusive dinner at The Surf Club for the launch of Tous Les Jours 621 by Domus Artium Reserve, a wine crafted by Thomas Keller, Beeple, and Michel Rolland (for info about the event, please reach out to contactus@hauteliving.com) and a celebration of design duo FormaFantasma with Perrier-Jouët at The Fontainebleau.

Hotel Takeovers

Miami’s highly-coveted hotels are also creating an artful experience for Art Basel Miami Beach 2024. Loews Miami Beach Hotel elevates the Art Basel experience with its inaugural Gallerist in Residence, Jonathan Carver Moore. D’Puglia, an international cultural initiative celebrating the rich heritage of Puglia, will present two notable exhibitions at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach : Flags for Future and Magna Grecia Collection by Antonio Aricò. The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, in collaboration with Supermarket Creative’s Look + See Projects and The Future Perfect, also presents Disco + Design , an exhibition that delves into the fusion of design and disco through immersive, multi-sensory experiences. Celebrating The Standard’s 25th anniversary, three hotel rooms have been reimagined as unique vignettes, showcasing furniture curated by The Future Perfect.

Miami-based international designer, stylist, and fine artist MiraFromMiami takes center internship at SLS South Beach . The 1 Hotel South Beach has unveiled an exciting lineup of art-focused and virtual reality programming for Miami Art Week 2024, featuring sustainable art, interactive installations, and inspiring moments from day to night. Highlights include private wellness events with ASICS, public mental health and wellness panels featuring figures like Dr. Deepak Chopra and Goldie Hawn, Daniel Mazzone’s art gallery debut, and vibrant DJ performances at Tala Beach.

Unveiling just in time for Art Basel, the “El Gran Amor” Collection by Dara Kaye Jewelry debuts as part of Big Bang’s fine jewelry program, “Love Mine,” at Faena Miami Beach . Featuring three sustainably sourced, limited-edition pieces adorned with lab-grown rubies and diamonds, this exclusive collection will be on display and available for purchase starting December 2nd.

Fashion’s Night Out

Finally, in true Miami Art Basel fashion, the luxury fashion houses are headed down south for Art Basel Miami Beach 2024. Cartier will celebrate the 100th anniversary  of its iconic Trinity collection with an immersive pop-up experience in Miami, featuring five distinct spaces embodying the collection’s history and cultural significance and a showcase of jewelry from the Cartier Collection. Around the corner, Gucci will unveil the Gucci Boule De Neige, a holiday-themed snow globe installation at Sweet Bird North Plaza in MDD. And, the newly expanded 6,700-square-foot Fendi boutique in MDD will reopen with a new Roman-inspired façade and interior design. For the new boutique, Fendi partnered with designer Lewis Kemmenoe for Design Miami to showcase a dual-material furniture collection and a unique Peekaboo displayed at the fair and in the boutique’s windows.

Cult Gaia will also be hosting an exclusive listening party of musicians Mario and Kirsty Sarah to preview Mario’s upcoming album, Glad You Came. LA-based abstract artist Jenny Chandler will also host the unveiling of the Balmain Lounge at MILA MM’s Private Members Club. And expect to see a chic Pucci ‘Fun Fair’ in Miami Beach.
