The Iconic Ralph Lauren Polo Bear Makes A Special Holiday Appearance

‘Tis the season of shimmer and shine. Luxury fashion house Ralph Lauren is pulling out all the stops when it comes to their holiday window displays at their New York, London, Tokyo, and Chicago flagship stores with innovative and interactive installations. Sitting at the heart of these cinematic displays is the brand’s iconic and beloved Polo Bear. The bear has been brought to life as a 3D digital rendering within a physical vignette, giving it a dynamic interplay where the digital and physical versions appear as one. Elevating the art of window dressing, the house is bringing the magical world of Ralph Lauren to life to engage new consumers.

The Polo Bear installation has been developed with AI technology, allowing the bear to respond to others, utilizing lifelike interactions with viewers, such as playful waves, dancing, and selfies. In the New York flagship store window, the Polo Bear is dressed in classic Ralph fashion in a festive tuxedo set within an Art Deco-inspired Manhattan penthouse overlooking Central Park and the city skyline. The physical set features the sleek Duke Bar Cart topped with classic Langley crystal martini glasses and Montgomery barware from Ralph’s home collection.

In the London, Tokyo, and Chicago stores, the bear lives within the whimsical Polo Bear Gift Concierge, where he comes to life as a tailor sewing the finishing touches on ties to gift to his family and friends. He can be seen sipping his cup of Ralph’s Coffee, grabbing tools from his workstation, and waving hello to onlookers. 

For over 57 years, Ralph Lauren has been known to embrace the spirit of innovation and has sat at the forefront of leading the industry from being the first brand to launch an e-commerce platform merely 25 years ago to 3D holographic displays to immersive virtual store experiences and beyond. Their newest initiative, AI-centric window displays, has elevated their notion of innovation and continues to set the brand apart as a driving force behind the modernity of fashion houses.
