Haute Collab: Jimmy Choo Drops Latest Installment of Sailor Moon Collaboration

Inspired by the vibrance of the zeitgeist-defining Manga created by Naoko Takeuchi, Jimmy Choo has unveiled its latest drop from its collaboration with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon . The collection dives further into the Sailor Moon universe through playful accessories, purses, shoes, and more. The capsule has been introduced through a playful campaign of visuals and videos that play on the brand and the show’s played values, created by artist YOSHIROTTEN’s Tokyo-based design studio YAR.

The collection comes to life during the campaign through the animation of the ten Sailor Guardians and each of their signature planet’s symbols. The concept of colors presents a series of striking visuals where the shoes and bags are the heroes, and each character’s personality is represented. Building off the collection’s first installment, the second debut furthers the collaboration by bringing five more beloved series characters to the pieces. Key footwear designs pull inspiration from the characters, directly referencing their costumes with each.

“I love what Sailor Moon represents – the power that comes from femininity, a strength found through unity, the belief that you can protect the good. I find those ideas inspiring, and it continues to amaze me how Sailor Moon touches and inspires so many people around the world, the genuine love of the fans across generations. It was exciting for me to further explore the superheroines of this deep and rich creative universe. I was interested in honoring a true reflection of the Manga, the characters – the escapism, and the idea of ​​the Guardians as pop icons,” shared Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo.

Original manga artwork by Naoko Takeuchi plays out across signature styles like the Diamond Tote, phone holders, card holders, and AirPod cases, a new offering for the fashion house. A highlight of the collaboration is the Avenue Vanity Bag, arriving in ten iterations featuring portraits of each Sailor Guardian, matched to each one’s signature shade. The range of pieces is complete with styles inspired by other iconic Manga characters with the Marlow Moccasin. Jimmy Choo’s signature shoe is finished in hot pink crystals to evoke the main character, Super Sailor Moon, or black glitter to evoke Luna, her cat.
