Hourglass & Barneys Threw A Lavish NYFW Party Celebrating Their New Pop-Up
Two brands that sit at the epitome of beauty and fashion collided to throw an exclusive, surrealist party celebrating the opening of Hourglass Cosmetics and Barneys New York limited-time concept store. Co-hosted by Carisa Janes, Founder and President of Hourglass, the CFDA, and former Barneys New York powerhouses who curated the shop, Julie Gilhart and Simon Doonan, the event took place at the pop-up located at 14 Prince Street and presented an immersive party at Elizabeth Street Gardens. The night brought out a star-studded crowd, including Emily Ratajkowski, Katie Holmes, Teyana Taylor, Alek Wek, and more.
The limited-time concept store debuts in honor of Hourglass’s 20th year anniversary, paying homage to where it got its start. Both brands have joined together to create a unique and immersive shopping experience for its customers featuring exclusive collaborative products. The space also features capsule collections from a diverse group of 40+ exciting fashion and beauty brands, with engaging weekly programming and influential guest appearances throughout the store. This experience is underscored by a partnership between Hourglass and the CFDA to provide scholarship funds to rising talent.
For the party, guests entered through a mirrored, hazy garden passageway into a reimagined space filled with sensorial experiences featuring lifesize Hourglass brush heads dressed by store designers at the center. Music by DJs Angel + Dren filled the space as guests were guided through blindfolded tastings, a bespoke dance show from renowned subway crew Showtime, and additional surprises at every turn throughout the maze. Guests received an exclusive preview of the store and viewed the limited-edition offerings while shopping through the designer-filled racks.
