ModernHaus SoHo: Redefining Urban Luxury In New York City
In the heart of New York City’s SoHo district, where art and culture intertwine, ModernHaus SoHo emerges as a beacon of luxury and creativity. This 114-room hotel, the first hospitality venture from Thor Equities Group, seamlessly blends contemporary design, expansive outdoor spaces, and a Michelin-starred dining experience, creating a unique urban sanctuary that reflects the dynamic spirit of its surroundings.
A Hub of Art and Design
ModernHaus SoHo is more than just a place to stay; it’s a celebration of the artistic spirit that defines the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel features an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, curated personally by Jack J. Sitt, Director of Thor Equities Group. The collection includes works from renowned artists like Alexander Calder, Hans Hartung, George Condo, and KAWS, reflecting SoHo’s rich artistic heritage.
The design of the hotel, inspired by the Bauhaus movement, emphasizes clean lines, geometric harmony, and large windows, allowing the energy of the city to permeate the space. Interior design consultant Melissa Bowers collaborated closely with Sitt to create a minimalist yet luxurious environment where every detail, from reclaimed wood floors to vibrant artwork, enhances the guest experience.
A Culinary Destination
Located at the intersection of Grand and Thompson Streets, Twenty Three Grand, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is quickly becoming a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Concepted from the mind of James Julius (Major Food Group’s’ ZZ’s, The Grill, Carbone, and Annabel’s in London) the restaurant offers a menu that blends global flavors with Mediterranean flair.
The restaurant’s design, also overseen by Melissa Bowers, transforms the space into a sophisticated yet inviting environment. With a retractable glass roof, Twenty Three Grand offers an al fresco dining experience during warmer months, while the indoor space, with its plush velvet and leather banquettes, provides a cozy atmosphere for year-round dining.
On the second floor, Jumpin Jacks serves as the hotel’s living room, offering a high-end coffee program by day and transforming into a cocktail bar by night. The lounge boasts dramatic ceiling heights and a rich palette of cognac, amber, and espresso tones, accented by art from Sitt’s collection.
The hotel’s lower level houses The Signature Room, a 3,100-square-foot event venue with a clean palette and warm wood tones, ideal for gatherings of any size. It features a private dining room, a terrazzo bar, and a seating area highlighted by an olive tree.
Jimmy, the rooftop bar, offers a year-round destination with panoramic views and a refined atmosphere inspired by Picasso’s Blue Period. Whether enjoying the inside conversation pit during colder months or the open-air ambiance in warmer weather, Jimmy remains a staple of lower Manhattan nightlife.
Elevating the SoHo Experience
ModernHaus SoHo is not just about luxurious accommodations and exceptional dining; it’s a place where guests can connect with the city’s artistic and cultural pulse. From the rooftop bar Jimmy, which offers panoramic views of Manhattan, to the various outdoor lounge areas and the Gallery Penthouse with its breathtaking views of the Manhattan Bridge and Freedom Tower, every aspect of the hotel is designed to create memorable experiences.
With its prime location, world-class amenities, and a deep connection to the creative spirit of SoHo, ModernHaus SoHo is poised to become a cornerstone of New York’s hospitality scene. Whether you’re a local looking for a chic spot to unwind or a visitor eager to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of downtown Manhattan, ModernHaus SoHo offers something truly special.
