Chanel Model Cindy Cederlund Discusses All Things LA
Cindy Cederlund is a successful model born in Brussels, Belgium to a Rwandan Mother and a Swedish Father. Cindy, who has a creative touch, always gives her mother the credit for her artistry. Her father who owns goldmines above the Arctic Circle in Finland and Norway has given her a head for business. She was lucky enough to be noticed at age 17 when a talent scout asked her to model for Abercrombie and Fitch. Luckily, she has been busy with modeling jobs since then.
Haute Living asks Cindy about the path that brought her to this moment.
In addition to making starring appearances at Cannes and in editorials, you are considered one of the most in-demand body parts models working today. Can you tell us how this unique part of your career started?
CINDY: “During COVID lockdowns, I was at a farmer’s market, and someone approached me to ask if I was a hand model. I was wearing a mask, so the focus was on my hands. The rest, as they say, is history.
Haute Living: LA is an incredibly unique city; what do you enjoy about it?
CINDY: I love LA, such a unique city with beaches, nightlife, an outdoor lifestyle and those food trucks.
Haute Living: What is your favorite way to relax in LA?
CINDY: I would say the beach; I am currently lodging near Point Dume, Malibu, which is gorgeous. I also enjoy nightlife, and I know it sounds strange, but it relaxes me. And LA certainly has wonderful places to go to, from Chateau Mormont to live music venues.
Haute Living: What are some of your favorite Restaurants?
CINDY: Georgio Baldi in Santa Monica and Bestia in DTLA. And those food trucks in Little Korea.
Haute Living: Is it exciting to be around the Film Industry?
CINDY: I enjoy knowing that there are many brilliant people living in LA. Eventually, I would like to retire from modeling and get more involved behind the silver screen. I am currently developing movie projects in Europe as a producer, and it will give me an important leg up when I finally move full-time to America.
Haute Living: You were the only Belgian model to be featured in the exclusive Pirelli calendar 2022 shot by Bryan Adams – to what do you attribute you achieving such a milestone?
CINDY: I am multicultural and multiethnic with ties to Europe and Africa, and Pirelli saw that as a wonderful plus. I also like to think that my genuine excitement for the art of fashion sets me apart. It is important for consumers to see human beings all over the world in campaigns and advertisements so we can all make conscious decisions about what we wear and which products to consume.
