When it comes to beauty, Dior’s iconic Rouge Dior lipstick has withstood the test of time — ultimately becoming a symbol for the Maison and continuously setting the bar for the industry. As we step into the year 2024, Dior has once again redefined the boundaries of luxury makeup with a new Rouge Dior line and stunning campaign.

Rouge Dior’s legacy dates back to 1953 when Christian Dior, after dressing every woman as a couturier, introduced the iconic lipstick. It was his way of dressing smiles for every occasion. Today, Rouge Dior continues to empower women, allowing them to express their uniqueness and individuality. Under the guidance of Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, the new lipstick is reinvented to be more emblematic than ever. Its new formula boasts a unique floral extract of red peony and a combination of floral active ingredients that offer optimum comfort and remarkable performance. With a wide range of shades available in satin and velvet couture finishes, Rouge Dior remains contemporary and desirable. “Renovating Rouge Dior is always an exciting challenge. Because how can you top an already excellent product? And we did it again, through formula, ingredients, color expertise, and savoir-faire,” reveals Philips.

The rebirth of Rouge Dior is marked by a campaign that is both unexpected and audacious, capturing the relationship between the lipstick and its wearer. Filmed by the visionary director Bardia Zeinali, this campaign features not one, but four remarkable muses who also happen to be House Ambassadors — including Yara Shahidi opening the campaign, multitalented actress, model, and singer Dilraba Dilmurat, international actor and gifted vocalist Rachel Zegler, and finally, Anya Taylor-Joy to close the campaign at a grandiose ball. Each muse embodies a contemporary Dior dream, and the campaign is set to the highly rhythmic Depeche Mode track “Personal Jesus.”

Renowned contemporary fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti lends his unique signature style to create a series of visuals featuring the four Rouge Dior muses. His experimental and sophisticated use of color and light accentuates the modernity and graphic nature of the campaign, reawakening the magical power of red as Dior’s ultimate color of passion and femininity.

The lipstick’s rebirth this year marks the start of the New Year as well as a new era for the brand, pushing the boundaries of high color, high coverage, and long-wear lipstick while maintaining its couture legacy. As Philips aptly put it, “The new Rouge Dior is ready to keep its crown as the reigning lipstick.”
