Ayo Edebiri had a very big night on Sunday as The Bear star took home her first-ever Golden Globe award. All eyes were on Ayo’s glam, however, which was classic and timeless — as effortlessly chic as her red hot custom Prada gown. Read on here to see how celebrity makeup artist Dana Delaney created her look.
Says Dana: “For Ayo’s look, we really wanted to go for something classic and timeless to suit the dress. It was really important for Ayo to look like herself with a clean and simple makeup aesthetic… For any red carpet, I find that skin prep is the most important. I try not to oversaturate skin with too much moisture. I also love to strategically place primers where there is typically shine, areas like the T-zone. I also am a huge fan of setting sprays like Benefit’s POREfessional Super Setter Spray. I find this is an indispensable step in my makeup process.”
On recreating the look at home, Delaney, who used Benefit cosmetics, adds, “I like people to cater a look to their face. Your face isn’t exactly like someone else’s. So, while I love that people get inspired by what they see on the carpets, i think it’s really cool to make a look your own. Small tweaks here and there to suit your skin tone and face shape. Don’t be afraid to play and come up with ways to improve. Makeup is so fun and it should never be paint by numbers.”
